Mo is responsible for overseeing SG Kleinwort Hambros' strategy to grow and transform a business with a long heritage. Cultivating an entrepreneurial and open culture, the bank seeks to be a start-up with 200 years of experience as it pursues its vision to be a leading responsible bank for client service and expertise.
Over the past few years, the bank has won many industry accolades, including in 2023, when it was recognised as the Best Private Bank in the UK by three independent organisations, achieved strong client satisfaction scores, and was also ranked one of the best places to work in the UK based on staff surveys. Mo has been listed in the PAM top 50 Most Influential in the industry for six consecutive years, and WealthBriefing European CEO of the year in 2021.
Mo is a member of the Société Générale Private Banking Executive Committee and the SG Kleinwort Hambros Bank Limited Board. Mo has personally sponsored a number of innovation, responsibility, talent and leadership initiatives to drive a high performance and inclusive culture, and he is a founding co-sponsor of SG Neurodiversity network.
Before becoming CEO, Mo was Deputy CEO and Chief Investment Officer. As well as delivering award winning investment performance, he was a regular contributor to conferences and the media including Bloomberg, CNBC and BBC radio and TV. He joined Kleinwort Benson in 2011 and moved to SG Kleinwort Hambros as part of an acquisition in 2017. Prior to this, Mo was Head of Multi-Asset Class Investing at Morgan Stanley for Europe, Middle East and Asia (PWM) and spent his early career in Citigroup in London and New York.
Mo has a master’s degree in finance with distinction from London Business School, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science with first class honours from the King’s College London.
He has been a board member, trustee and mentor for several charities with a particular focus on education at all levels from schools to universities, including the King's College London endowment. Mo enjoys sports, including long-distance triathlons and marathons.
