THE INFLUENCER GURU: Driving brand engagement in the age of social with Nick Cooke, GOAT

Host James Hurley, Enterprise Editor at The Times, is joined by Ama Amo-Agyei, founder of Plantmade – an organic haircare and wellness brand that aims to get to the root causes of any hair or beard woes.

After being made redundant during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ama started the company from home with only £100 – creating a haircare treatment for her alopecia using ingredients inspired by her Ghanaian heritage.

Ama continued experimenting with natural ingredients and started selling hair products via Instagram. Within 5 months, she was making 6 figures.

Yet Ama was soon drawing on her nascent business skills to survive an existential crisis – a legal threat which saw her suspend operations, rebrand and start all over again.
